  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp espresso powder (optional)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 package candy eyes
  • 20 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream, to thin

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9 x 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt together butter and dark chocolate chips until smooth.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and gradually add melted chocolate mixture along with sugar until well combined.
  4. Mix in flour until just combined, then fold in half a cup of chocolate chips.
  5. Spread batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  6. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with coconut oil; dip cooled brownies into the mixture, coating them thoroughly.
  7. Prepare the icing by whisking powdered sugar and heavy cream; pipe bandage patterns on the coated brownies and attach candy eyes.
