  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 ½ tablespoons cold butter (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°F to keep cooked dumplings warm.
  2. In a large pot, combine water, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. In a food processor, blend flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until mixed. Add cold butter and pulse until it resembles coarse meal.
