  • 2 lbs. ground beef (ground round or sirloin)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz.) chili beans, undrained
  • 1 can (46 oz.) tomato juice
  • 4 oz. spaghetti or angel hair pasta
  • 12 Tbs. mild chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • Shredded cheddar, corn chips, and sour cream for garnishing

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the mild chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour in the tomato juice and add the chili beans along with their liquid and sugar. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add broken pasta to the pot and stir occasionally until tender, approximately 10 minutes.
