  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef stock
  • 1 ounce au jus gravy mix
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1. Season the steak pieces with kosher salt and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. 2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear half of the steak pieces until browned. Repeat with remaining steak.
  3. 3. Transfer all seared steak to a 6-quart Crockpot.
  4. 4. Add sliced onion and garlic over the steak and toss gently.
  5. 5. Pour beef stock over the mixture and sprinkle au jus gravy mix on top.

  7. 7. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours until tender.
